The Starlink installation process began with an obstruction test using the Starlink app to identify the optimal location for the dish. Once the best position was determined, the Starlink dish was securely mounted using a pivot mount to ensure stability and maximum signal reception.
Next, the Starlink cable was carefully routed from the dish into the interior of the home where the Gen 3 WiFi mesh router was installed. Using a Starlink cable routing kit, our team ensured a clean and secure cable outdoor-indoor passthrough. Then, Starlink cable and power supply were connected to the router. Upon powering the system, the installer activated the service and configured the SSID and WiFi password using the customer’s Starlink app account credentials.
We orient the customer on how to use the Starlink App in managing Starlink connection. These includes, resetting the WiFi password, running speed tests, troubleshooting common connectivity issues and others.
Our Starlink installers conducted the Starlink alignment test using the Starlink app to confirm that the dish had a clear, unobstructed view of the sky. This is an essential factor for ensuring a stable connection with minimal disruptions.
Using the speed test, the Starlink connectivity was evaluated. The first one was done after few minutes of the installation and setup. Starlink may take up to 12 hours to synchronize fully. It scans the sky and optimizes satellite connections, temporary speed fluctuations or brief dropouts can occur during those times.
The customer conducted another speed test to verify the improvements in connectivity performance. The results showed a download speed of 174 Mbps and an upload speed of 16.0 Mbps, reflecting a significant increase in both download and upload speeds. The customer is pleased with the outcome.
